Why Love Your Gut?
I’ve spent over 15 years in the healthcare space as a clinician, scientist, teacher and now a business leader to know that some fads – diets, scientific theories or otherwise, come and go. One thing is for certain though, is that gut health is here to stay. The body of evidence supporting the importance, influence and effects of being gut friendly, as well as others around plant-based eating and IBD is growing day-by-day. Enough that we need to stand still and take stock of what is important for us to support our own gut-health.
I have published in several scientific journals, blogs and articles as well as written for others to publish their own findings. When I came up with the idea of Dish Dish Deets with my partner, we identified a need to distil all the available science, and most importantly, ensure that it blended with the beauty of food and the art of being gut healthy.
The ‘Love Your Gut’ blog will cover a series of themes to provide that opportunity to ‘stand still and take stock’, where I and a series of other experts will discuss and disseminate core elements and knowledge, be it evidence or experience-based, around gut health, plant-based eating and well-being with IBD/IBS.
